EASME monitoring visit

 From September 30 to October 2, 2019 the head of department of SME Executive Agency  Ms. Luisa Prista and Project adviser  Mr. Thomas Steiert had a monitoring visit to Armenia.  The guests were welcomed by Deputy Minister of Economy Ms.Naira Margaryanand Deputy Director of SME DNCof Armenia, Head ofthe Consortium  of “Enterprise Europ Network Armenia” project Mr. Karen Gevorgyan.                                                                   During the three-day visit they met with therepresentative of “Armenian Young Women’s Association” NGO, they discussed issues related to the position of women  in business environment of Armenian and the privileges given to them.                                 The guests participated in the event organized in the central office of  SME DNC of Armenia, the main purpose of which was to present to the SMEs, business associations, business organizations and other stakeholders the initiative of European Innovation Council for the financing of research and innovation projects by the European Union.During the event, the participants were informed about Enterprise Europe Network and it’s functions in Armenia.                                                                                                                                                         On the first day of the visit, they visited Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, where they were introduced to educational programs focused on IT, to provide the priority industry with new staff trained in that center.During the visit Ms.Luisa Prista and  Mr. Thomas Steiert visited local companies with internationalization potential including: manufacturer of closures  for glass containers “Universal Closures” LLC, IT company “7 Smart” LLC which applied to the SME Instrument tool with its  lucky_carrot application. The last visit was to "Liqvor Pharmaceuticals" CJSC where  the visitors got acquainted with the company's achievements in the pharmaceutical field and export potential. It should also be noted that  during those visits the experts of EEN Armenia gave  internationalization advice to Armenian companies.                                                                                                                                         On the last day of monitoring visit Mr. Thomas Steiert  met with the consortium members of the “Enterprise Europe Network Armenia” project, introduces with the news from  EASME, discussed feedback on performance in 2017-18 and answered the  questions of the Network staff.
