The story of the pharmaceutical company: entering to the Single Market by the help of SME DNC. Melio Group
The young entrepreneur Mr. Daniel Hovsepyan had the following vision:
- developing market strategy to promote new products in pharmaceutical market,
- exclusive distribution,
- wholesale trade of medicines and food supplements,
- expanding the distribution geography.
Following his vision, Daniel established a pharmaceuticals distribution company in 2012, focusing mainly on high quality not expensive food supplements and medicines.
This is when Daniel heard about services provided by Enterprise Europe Network Armenia hosted by Fund “Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center (SME DNC) of Armenia”. He visited the SME DNC head office in Yerevan already as the CEO and the founder of “Melio group” LLC, to explore the opportunities of finding an international partner through the Network, even for a relatively young business.
The experts of the programe Enterprise Europe Network Armenia presented Daniel Network's services and advised to register a business request in the network.
While the company profile was being developed and verified in the Network, the staff members in Armenia submitted an enquiry in the Network to have the list of food supplements’ producers in EU countries and beyond the EU. The enquiry had a lot of responses. The Enterprise Europe Network Armenia staff was channeling all contacts received from network partners to “Melio group” LLC, where the offered products were examined. As a result, the Armenian company started serious negotiations with Latvian company, which gradually developed into cooperation. After first samples of the products were received, examined and tested, “Melio group” decided to become the representative of Latvian company in Armenia. This was the first Partnership Agreement the Armenian company signed.
Negotiation with other companies resulted in signing 3 more partnership agreements. One of the new partners was Norwegian company, which develops, sales and distributes unique natural active ingredients, and makes finished formulations and products based on these ingredients. The company signed distribution services agreement with “Melio group” LLC. The PA between Armenian and Norwegian companies was made exclusively by the efforts of Enterprise Europe Network Armenia.
Third partnership agreement was signed with a Czech innovative company specialized in medical devices and another Latvian company engaged in food supplements’ production. Thanks to these 3 latter partnership agreements, the Norwegian and Czech pharmaceuticals producers are presented in Armenian market through the Armenian company “Melio group” LLC.
These partnership agreements brought Daniel closer to realizing his vision.
