Research cooperation between Armenia and Spain
Ms. Armine Abrahamyan, the researcher from Armenian National Agrarian University participated at B2B meetings organised by Catalan Cluster of Agricultural Production means, with the support of Agency for competitiveness of companies and the Enterprise Europe Network in September, 2017.
During the B2Bs FEMAC (lead of the Cluster) held a meeting with Armine Abrahamyan. After the negotiation, both participants agreed, that Armine would apply to the Project “Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs” ․ FEMAC agreed to be the host organisation as experienced entrepreneur, where Armine could learn how to contribute to the cluster development.
The SME DNC of Armenia, the member of “Erasmus for young entrepreneurs” and “Enterprise Europe Network” Projects in Armenia, has supported the senior researcher Ms. Armine Abrahamyan to apply for “Erasmus for young entrepreneurs” Project. These two Projects have been successfully synergized thanks to the efforts of both sides.
The main task to be performed by Armine was to facilitate the creation of innovation and R&D projects among SMEs and clusters in Europe and beyond within the agri food ecosystem and agricultural production means.
Within the framework of the project Ms. Armine Abrahamyan is acquiring entrepreneurial skills and appropriate knowledge of business administration, marketing etc., that are necessary to run her own business․ She learned at host organisation GIMP and INKSCAPE projects to develop packaging, illustrations, interactive figures to use in marketing. 
As the result of cooperation, Ms. Armine Abrahamyan designed and presented 5 new innovative cropping system involving medicinal plants in Catalonia for further sustainable development of agriculture for several Mediterranean traditional crops in Catalonia.
In general, in its turn, the host organisation got assistance in several innovative projects e.g. digitalization in agriculture, received assistance in large amount of data analysis and modelling projects to contribute future predictions and innovative solutions in agriculture. Several new partnerships between new organisations, medicinal plants growers and herbal tea producing companies have been established in the result of conducted activities.
In particular, special scientific collaboration has been established between ANAU and IRTA (Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology of Catalonia) by the efforts of FEMAC and Ms. Armine Abrahamyan. All the parties are interested to develop their corporation through scientific innovative projects in agri food production.
On behalf of future collaboration, Dr. Armine Abrahamyan has successfully completed of all modules to be granted the status of EXPERT in innovation for agrifood ecosystem by the IMP3rove European Innovation Management Academy.  The expertise and skills she obtained during one-month course, will be used while writing innovative projects in agri food ecosystem between the interested parties. 
The host organisation expresses its interest in importing Armenian medicinal teas to Spain. Both parties presented details to contribute and implement the idea of certification, packaging, organic production and much more in Spain. To realize further collaboration, the parties are very interested to set up new project proposal through EU relevant funds e.g. H2020, Life, etc.
